It’s been ages since our last podcast for our Appian mix series. In keeping with previous podcasts we have asked our most recent artist — Forest Drive West to concoct something nice for us. Mellow summer time listening here. We hope you enjoy it in the garden with a cold one 🙂

We don’t believe in rushing our release schedule at Appian HQ. We try and wait for something really special to come along, something that will last. This is what happened when we received a folder of tracks from Forest Drive West recently. Ultra deep textures and rhythms that wash over you and take hold – that’s the feeling we get with this EP (soon to be named). On a different tip to his other releases this EP showcases how diverse a producer FDW is.

We’re delighted to announce that our very own Al Blayney has been added to the already fantastic line up at this years Open Ear Festival. The festival will be hosted on the grounds of Sherkin Island, off the cost of Co. Cork, Ireland on 2-4 June. Some other guest on the line up include Eomac, Ambulance, Mike Slott, The Cyclist, Naive Ted, Whirling Hall of Knives among others. Tickets are priced at €130 for the weekend and if it’s anything like last years festival, it’s definitely one not to be missed.

Summertime is not complete unless there is a soothing soundtrack to accompany the warm nights and long road trips so Appian’s very own Al Blayney has whipped up a killer mix for the 32nd FIBER. As Al just returned from a three week honeymoon, you can expect a mix radiating with love.

For our tenth release we are very excited to welcome our talented friend @o-utlier to the Appian Sounds family. To date we have focused heavily on Various Artists compilations but we felt it was a good time to revert back to a full artist Ep and give o.utlier the chance to show off his considerable track building.

This Ep gives a perfect insight into his Dub-fueled, depth-charged influences whilst also showcasing his classically trained abilities. 4 tracks with stunning atmospheres for all hours listening. We really hope you like this as much as we do : )

A mix dedicated to my new friends in Madrid. . .

I was lucky enough to be invited to play at one of the Downbeat label nights in Madrid in late October. It was my first time playing out at a club in years. When Alfonso contacted me it was an amazing moment……Downbeat for me is one of the best underground Labels anywhere. This mix was compiled from the bag of records I brought with me to the party…..albeit quite a bit shorter.
